April Sunami will host an artist panel with Janet George, Wendy Kendrick, and Gaye Reissland focused on the role of community in art making. Each artist will provide insights on how community affects their practice, and the role of community in art making on a local/national/global scale. The panel will include a Q+A with the audience.
This engagement is supported by the Arts Midwest GIG Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Ohio Arts Council.

Born in Puerto Rico, Jeremy began art studies at the Escuela Central de Artes Visuales. He holds a BFA in advertising and design from the Columbus College of Art and Design. He currently works as a VP, associate creative director at FCB Health in New York City.

Dhvani – Bharatanatyam Margam by Shriya Srinivasan
Dr. Shriya Srinivasan is the disciple and daughter of Guru Sujatha Srinivasan, Artistic Director, Shri Kalaa Mandir. She has been practicing Bharathanatyam for the past 25 years and is known for her vibrant stage presence, emotive capacity and ability to blend sharp Nrtta with elegant grace. She has performed widely in the United States and India and was recently featured in the Madras Music Academy’s Midyear, Spirit of Youth, and HCL Festivals.
She co-founded the Anubhava Dance Company, comprised of first-generation Indian-American Bharathanatyam dancers and musicians, and has toured over 14 cities with her new productions, winning great acclaim. An upcoming Carnatic vocalist, passionate about Sanskrit and yoga, she brings a holistic approach to her art.She recently co-choreographed Vivarta:Transformations- an original work on environmental conservation, which premiered at the Cleveland Public Theatre for DanceWorks 2019.
Shriya is a professor at Harvard University and aims to bring current social themes to life through the beauty and pristine form of the classical Indian arts. She applies her research in biomechanics and sensory feedback to develop better practices for dancing and enabling audiences to experience and interact with the complexity of Bharathanatyam.

Audience members will enjoy a wide variety of music including swing, bebop, funk, and more! We know our students are "jazzed" to perform for you!

A thrilling encounter with one of the world’s great art capitals.
Based on a major exhibition at the Ashmolean in Oxford, Tokyo Stories spans 400 years of incredibly dynamic art – ranging from the delicate woodblock prints of Hokusai and Hiroshige, to Pop Art posters, contemporary photography, Manga, film, and brand-new artworks that were created on the streets.
The exhibition was a smash-hit five-star success and brought a younger and more diverse audience to the museum. The film uses the exhibition as a launchpad to travel to Tokyo itself, and explore the art and artists of the city more fully.
A beautifully illustrated and richly detailed film, looking at a city which has undergone constant destruction and renewal over its 400-year history, resulting in one of the most vibrant and interesting cities on the planet…

Celebrate Black joy and the Black experience!
"The Woman King" follows Nanisca, general of the Agojie, an all-female unit of warriors who the protected the African kingdom of Dahomey in the 1800s, as she trains the next generation of recruits, readying them for battle.
Screenings are free, but seat reservations are required (no-show seats will be released at 2 pm). Refreshments will be available for purchase. The series is presented in partnership with the Worthington Alliance of Black Families and Educators and the McConnell Arts Center, and sponsored by the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries.
