Closing Reception for Artists and Family Members on Saturday April 29th

The Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibition, now in its fifty-third year, is dedicated to the educational and artistic advancement of our talented young people in the state of Ohio. The exhibition is open to all of Ohio's 1,112 high schools, both public and private, chartered by the State of Ohio Department of Education.

Cinema Columbus – New York International Children’s Film Festival: Kid Flicks

Fun, artful, inspired, and thought-provoking film programs from the curated collections of New York International Children’s Film Festival award-winning and audience favorite short films from the 2022 Festival. Lively collections of short animation, live action, and documentary films reflect NYICFF’s commitment to storytelling and diversity and are sure to spark meaningful conversations.

Kid Flicks is full of journeys big and small, from a young artist’s river-bound trek to school and a passerby’s neighborhood stroll, to the search for a loving home and the path to understanding between friends.

Break on through to the other side with The Moonbats as they present an entire evening of music by The Doors!

The Moonbats capture the spirit of the 60’s by performing the songs that changed Rock and Roll forever. With their humor, energy, and top-notch musicianship, The Moonbats bring an authentic rock experience through these immortal songs. The band members are Jesse McNamara (Guitar/Lead Vocals), Tony Brock (Bass/Lead Vocals), Maxwell Button (Drums/Vocals), and Rob Cave (Keyboards/Vocals).

My studio is the out of doors. That’s where I take my pictures, that’s where I find my inspiration, that’s
where my ideas spring forth. Back home I sit in front of my computer and relive all those moments out
in the desert hiking through the wide-open landscape learning about nature’s ways.

Grounded: The Essential Landscape presents, in the MAC Main Gallery, Marsh's current large-scale Western landscape photographs of Montana, Nebraska, and South Dakota (2021/22) along with select vintage images of places previously photographed in the Badlands of South Dakota (1986-87) and Badlands of eastern Montana (1999).

“Water, Water Everywhere but Not a Drop to Drink” (The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Samuel Taylor Coleridge)

This water-themed ecopoetry workshop includes an introduction to ecopoetry, basic poetry tools, sample water poems, documentary clips, discussions, and prompts to get everyone inspired to choose and write about a topic within the subject matter. Poems from this workshop may be selected to be read during the MAC’s May 20th event, Water Reveries: An Evening of Dance and Poetry.

Learn basic encaustic collage, assemblage, and image making techniques to expand your mixed media art making! Supplies are provided by the instructor; you are welcome to bring any collage materials or embeds you would like to use in your creations. Please bring 1-2 wooden surfaces to work on.

Water Reveries: An Evening of Poetry and Dance

Water Reveries, one of Global Water Dances Columbus (GWDC) city-wide events, is an evening of water inspired dance performances and poetry readings to bring people together, building awareness and social action around the importance of water and our relationship to it. Water Reveries features dance performances by Selo, Mansee Singhi, Hixon Dance, Perennial Movement Group, LP and Dancers, and Times Past Village Dancers, as well as poetry readings in collaboration with Dr. Susann Moeller of the Ohio Poetry Association. Enjoy this special presentation, inspiring action and collaboration for equitable access to safe, clean, and affordable water for everyone through the universal language of dance.
