On View May 11 – July 6
Grounded: The Essential Landscape presents, in the MAC Main Gallery, Marsh’s current large-scale Western landscape photographs of Montana, Nebraska, and South Dakota (2021/22) along with select vintage images of places previously photographed in the Badlands of South Dakota (1986-87) and Badlands of eastern Montana (1999).
Fredrik Marsh’s keen interest in experiencing, exploring, and photographing “place” in the natural and built landscape, spans some four decades. This has led to extended projects (photographed in both color and black-and-white film and high-resolution digital capture) from across the United States, as well as in Dresden, Germany, and Guangzhou, Guangdong, People’s Republic of China.
Marsh’s photographs are grounded in “seeing” and “experiencing” the essential landscape in its many forms.
