Best of Ohio Plein Air Society: A Juried Exhibition
On View October 14, 2021 – December 18, 2021
A “plein air” painting is a work which has been created while the artist is outdoors, on location, and working from direct observation. These paintings are meant to be completed without the assistance of photography. You may have seen plein air artists working in your local parks or city streets before, set up outdoors with their easels, paints, and other equipment.
Ohio is home to a flourishing plein air artist community which the The Peggy R. McConnell Art Center is excited to showcase this fall. The MAC’s juried exhibition will celebrate the work of Ohio Plein Air Society artists and the beautiful scenes they paint. We will be displaying the paintings plein air artists are most proud of, and that capture beautiful scenes and moments from around the state.
Ohio Plein Air Society artist will submit paintings to be considered for the exhibition. Three jurors with experience in the arts will then select the finest examples of plein air works to display at the MAC. We invite you to celebrate the opening of the show on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and enjoy the exhibition through the rest of the fall.
