Ananya Ashok, a Carnatic vocalist who received her initial training from US-based violinist Anuradha Sridhar, continues her musical journey as a disciple of Sangita Kalanidhi TN Seshagopalan.

Ananya has also learned Hindustani vocal music from violinist Kala Ramnath. An accomplished vainika as well, Ananya trains with Srikanth Chary, a senior disciple of the late Lalgudi G Jayaraman. She is also a graded artist in both vocal (A grade) and veena at All India Radio Chennai.

Ananya has performed at all the major venues in Chennai as well as many centres in Kerala, Bengaluru, Mysore, Delhi, and Coimbatore. She has been featured in concerts in the United States and Singapore as well as performances on Indian and American television. Awards Ananya has received over the years include the Tanjore Srinivasa Iyer Endowment Prize of Krishna Gana Sabha in 2013 and the ‘Outstanding Vocalist’ and ‘Best Concert’ awards from the Madras Music Academy.

Ananya hails from a musical family. Her father Ashok Subramaniam is a musician and teacher residing in the Bay Area, California. Her musical legacy includes illustrious ancestors like gurus KR Kumaraswamy and KR Kedaranathan, and going further back in history, Sangita Kalanidhi Kallidaikuruchi Vedanta Bhagavatar and Ramalinga Bhagavatar.

 

Sandhya Anand is an All India Radio-graded Carnatic music violinist and vocalist, with over 3000 concerts in India and abroad to her credit. She has learnt her art from some eminent gurus. The list includes the likes of Suguna Varadachari, Sangita Kalanidhi TVGopalakrishnan, S. Krishna Iyer, R Swaminathan (violin) and KS Suryanarayanan (flute).

Her vocal and violin performances under the auspices of reputed organisations in Chennai and the USA have won her several awards and accolades. An awardee of Government of India national scholarships and a distinguished scholar with post graduate qualifications in music and Sanskrit, Sandhya is a regular performer on All India Radio, Doordarshan and other Indian TV channels.

Sandhya has been a violin soloist as well as an accompanist to several topnotch artists across generations including a few Sangita Kalanidhis. She is known to collaborate with eminent artistes from a variety of disciplines including dancers.and artistes from other genre while giving Violin solo performances as well.

Sandhya is the founder director of the Samskrtasangitam School of Music where she trains aspiring students- inculcating in them the passion for music and Sanskrit. Added to an emphasis on strong fundamentals, this approach of the school has prepared students to perform full fledged concerts.

 

Shubha Chandramouli is an accomplished mridangam artist, an unusual example of a woman exponent of the instrument. Initially trained by Poovalur Srinivasan, she is at present a disciple of Patri Satish Kumar. Shubha has accompanied several renowned musicians across the globe on the mridangam.. A regular performer in Chennai during the Margazhi music season, she recently honoured with a Special Commendation by Bharat Kalachar, Chennai for her percussion artistry.

As a collaborator in diverse genres of music and dance ensembles, Shubha has performed at numerous global music festivals, most recently the Reflektor festival in Hamburg, Germany curated by Anoushka Shankar, the Festival of Tabla, and the Geeva Arts Festival. Shubha is also a performing vocalist, having given several vocal concerts around the US and India.

An MBA graduate from Boston University, Shubha currently resides in Los Angeles working in Strategic Planning & Finance.
