Tuesdays, January 14 – February 18
10:00am – 12:00pm
In this class, students will create a photo gallery bound inside a journal with accompanying written meditations. Photos can be still life, landscape, street life, night photography, architecture, etc. The class will narrate 10 to 12 final images with prose passages prompted by visual cues within the photography, including time for group workshopping. The finished product is a gallery-journal that commemorates our photo journey in the natural and urban environment, mixing the familiar and the surprising situations in which we live. Students print a selection of images each week (two to three) and bind them into a durable paper-bound book. A digital camera or mobile camera phone work for this class (Instructor uses an iPhone 13). Participants will download Snapseed photo editing software, and students will need time enough to take a couple hours between class meetings to shoot photos, make initial edits and compose writing.
