Cartooning for Adults (7 sessions)

High School-Adult | Beginner

Instructor: Dan Gerdeman

Thursdays, March 20 – May 1

7:00pm – 9:00pm

Cartooning for Adults invites participants to explore the creative world of cartoon art in a relaxed, engaging environment. Often, adults will say ‘I can’t draw a stick figure’: this class will dispel that myth. This workshop teaches the fundamentals of cartooning, including character design, exaggeration, facial expressions, and visual storytelling. With hands-on exercises, you’ll develop your own unique cartoon style, gain confidence in drawing, learning how to convey humor, emotion, and narrative through simple drawings. The session encourages creativity, self-expression, and a lighthearted approach to art, offering both instruction and playful experimentation. Leave with your own cartoon creations and the confidence to continue telling stories.
