Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

About Us  |  Leadership  | Employment  |  Our Community  |  Artist Educators   |  Partners  |  Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center (MAC) celebrates diversity, fosters equity and promotes
inclusion. Our goal is to ensure our space, operations, programming and any other activities
reflect these values while fulfilling our mission of building pathways to experience the joy and
wonder of the arts.

We are committed to promoting and sustaining a diverse, inclusive, equitable and accessible
space in which everyone interacting with us — visitors, supporters, artists, staff, board
members, volunteers, and vendors — feels valued and respected. Collectively, we seek to
model diversity, equity, and inclusion for all arts organizations and our community, and strive to
maintain a diverse and inclusive environment with equitable treatment for all.

At the MAC, we believe in the transformative power of the arts to unleash creativity and
engage the community. Acts of creation are essential for helping us relate to, empathize with,
and better understand the world around us and the people in it. We listen to, learn from, and
celebrate diverse voices and perspectives, and strive to create a vibrant and accessible social
space that encourages dialogue and the exchange of ideas through arts and culture.
Amplification of diverse voices allows the arts to flourish and we take pride in fostering an
environment at the MAC that supports such growth.

The MAC will continue to be a place for building empathy, dialogue, listening, and respect in
order to best serve our communities. We are making a commitment to diversity, equity and
inclusivity in our community through talent showcased, programming, workplace culture, and
multidisciplinary arts.
